Users & roles

Configuration > Users lets an Admin add accounts for anyone else who should sign in - each with its own role.

Roles

• Admin - can make configuration changes: dashboards, automations, devices, Locations & Areas, settings, users, and backups.
• User and View only - both currently read-only for configuration (User is kept as its own option so it can be given real permissions of its own later, without a schema change in the meantime).

Whatever the role, day-to-day dashboard use - toggling a switch, pressing a button - stays available to everyone signed in. The role only gates changing the setup, not using it.

Adding and removing accounts

New user asks for a username, email, password, and role. An account can't delete itself while signed in as it - sign in as a different Admin first if you need to remove that one.
